Many people suffer with arthritis.Osteoarthritis is a degenerative arthritis that affects predominantly the hands, knees, hips and spine. The symptoms include pain, stiffness, swelling, crackling, crepitus sound and joint pain. Osteoarthritis affects about 50% of those who are over 65 years old.
Did you know that investigators emphasize and recommend working on undoing the degenerative mechanisms occurring in your body versus taking anti-inflammatory drugs?
Scientific studies show that if a person has too many omega 6 fatty acid in their body, they will have too many of the pro-inflammatory hormones that promote inflammation in your body.
Foods that contribute to high omega 6's in your body include:beef, lamb, pork, eggs, dairy, shellfish and organ meats.So a simple start to reducing omega 6's inflammation is to avoid these foods
There is more that can be done.
Tests can be done to see what else is contributing to and making your arthritis worse. For example, testing for your own fatty acid profile. This is a test that will tell exactly what your fatty acids profile is, Omega 6 versus omega 3, etc.
Do you know if you're deficient? It has been documented that omega 3 fatty acids deficiency may be the most widespread nutritional deficiency today. The only way to be absolutely sure your fatty acids are balanced is to get them tested with a simple test.
Testing for gut damage is important as well. When the lining of your gut is damaged by bacteria, toxins and allergens, these can enter your bloodstream and make your symptoms worse.
Another test, a comprehensive digestive stool analysis. This tells how well you digest food, absorb nutrients, fight intestinal bugs and eliminate waste. If you don't absorb nutrients, lack fuel or don't use it properly, this could lead to arthritis of various different types as well.
Since inflammation is a degenerative mechanism in the development of arthritis, testing for amino acids that are important to decreasing inflammation is also critical.  Amino acids cysteine, glutathione and taurine are involved in lowering inflammation. When you are low in these amino acids, inflammation results. Intolerances to foods and chemicals, persistent inflammation, and even depression have been linked to amino acid imbalance.
Unfortunately, many people attempt to self diagnose. They will do a shotgun approach and believe that a certain supplement will cure their problem.
The best approach is to first be evaluated through the appropriate testing to determine EXACTLY what natural treatments will help.
Once you are properly tested, your physician will be able to find the causes of your problem and make appropriate, personalized treatment recommendations for your healing. Do you want to just suppress symptoms or do you want to truly get well? The choice is yours.
