Exercise helps to burn calories by increasing your metabolism, however, not everyone knows that getting enough quality sleep helps with fat burning too. The best number of hours the average person needs is between 7 and 9 hours of sleep per night.
Depending on the amount of breakdown during the day that the body goes through, the more sleep one may need. For example, more activity creates breakdown of the body. Injuries require more sleep enhancing healing as well. The greater amount of activity during the day, the more your body has to rebuild and repair at night. Those body processes involve using fat (just don't eat a high sugar dinner or nighttime snack or your body won't be able to). Dinner should be a 6 ounce protein and vegetable meal with sufficient nutrients to provide your body with the components necessary for repair. Vegetables should be a combination of the three colors (orange, green and white). These could include, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower.
Getting enough quality sleep also helps your metabolism run efficiently the next day. When you are fatigued, your metabolism will slow down too.
So stay active and get good quality sleep....
